Hotel Guanabara

I liked that the location is so central, with everything close by and no need for a car. The staff were very friendly and attentive during my nine-day stay, and the value for money was good. The hotel itself feels old and poorly maintained, though, and its appearance could be much better for a place in the center. It’s a two-star hotel. Cleaning could improve, and the sheets and towels weren’t changed every day. Breakfast was good on the whole, but some days the fruit looked old and unappetizing. The shared microwave was rusty inside and covered in sauce, so it was unusable. Nobody cleaned it. The drinking water dispenser was dirty too, which gave a bad impression for something meant for drinking. They could replace the microwave and keep the dispenser clean.
