Pousada Beira Mar

The staff were kind, helpful, and kept everything super clean. Breakfast was great, too. The location is perfect, close to everything, and you can hear the ocean from the rooms. Staying at Pousada Beira Mar made our time in Caraíva incredible. Thanks so much for everything. I’m definitely coming back!

The location is excellent, and Ita, Sara from breakfast, and João were consistently attentive and polite. Sadly, the rest of our ten-day stay at Pousada Beira Mar left a lot to be desired. The room was cleaned properly on only two days, when we arrived and after we complained. Before that complaint, it looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned properly for about seven days. An empty water bottle fell under the bed near the start of our stay and stayed there all ten days, which showed how incomplete the cleaning was. On day seven, we reported that the sheet was dirty, the bathroom hygiene was poor, and the room clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Instead of listening, the owner questioned what we were telling him, as if it weren’t true. They cleaned the room that day, but it was dirty again the next day, and the shower stall hadn’t been cleaned. We also had to ask for fresh towels every two days. With Caraíva’s dark sand, towels get dirty quickly, so changing them should be basic care. The receptionist Larissa was impolite, and the owner was too.

The breakfast was delicious, and the women preparing it to order were so attentive. The inn is charming and really well located. I booked through CVC and didn’t notice the room was 12 m2. It felt small, and if I’d realized, I would’ve asked to switch to a bigger one. I stayed five days and had nowhere to hang wet clothes, so they all came home smelling bad. The bathroom has no window, and even hanging things in the shower stall didn’t help them dry.

We were close to both the beach and the river, and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. The bed and bath linens were always clean and smelled fresh. Breakfast was perfect, with fresh options made to order like bread, tapioca, crepioca, and couscous, plus fruit. Best of all, the kitchen team made a different little cake every day. They were such sweet, attentive people. Grateful for the lovely stay! 🙏🏼
