Getting to this lodge is quite a journey, with four transfers: bus, boat, bus, boat. It's deep in the forest, and well worth the trip. The schedule is relaxed, leaving enough time to unwind, and every planned excursion felt worthwhile. The food was good, but they don't have snacks between meals, so bring some along. Take rain gear or a poncho even when the afternoon looks sunny. We got caught out when the weather changed. Visiting during the flooded forest season sounds magical. We were well looked after throughout our stay.

My son and I had a great two-night, full-board trip. We caught and released several piranhas, and watched our guide catch a black caiman right in front of us before we held it. Romario knew so much and answered all our questions with patience and warmth. We also had a comfortable transfer with Eduardo. There was plenty to see on our jungle hike through dense trees: frogs, ant and termite hills, spiders, monkeys, and sloths. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. The food was simple and healthy, and the tours were spaced out well, with much-needed breaks.

The food surprised us most of all. It was made from simple local ingredients, yet every meal was delicious, full of flavor, and tasted homemade. We looked forward to eating each time. Eduardo from the transfer service was also very kind. He talked with us throughout the journey and shared tips for Manaus. His advice was genuinely useful and took us to a restaurant where we had what may have been one of the best fish dishes we've ever tried. We spent four days and three nights here, and it was one of the most memorable parts of our Brazil trip. The activities, from piranha fishing and pink dolphin spotting to jungle walks and learning about local life, felt authentic, well organized, and fun. Our Spanish-speaking guide, Hernán, deserves a special mention. He was excellent, passionate about his work, and made each outing both educational and enjoyable, explaining the wildlife, plants, survival skills, jungle, and local culture. We also met Francisco, who has lived in the jungle his whole life. It was fascinating to talk with someone with such deep experience of the area. He always greeted us with a smile, tried to communicate despite the language barrier, and clearly cares about what he does. 100% recommended.

Our four-day programme was interesting throughout, and we felt we got to see and do a lot. Chico, our guide, really made the trip. He spoke good English and taught us so much about the rainforest. Thanks, Chico! The lodge is run by locals who know the forest and care about their home. At the lodge, everyone was friendly, the food was delicious, and our room was basic but clean. It took a night to get used to the odd frog in the shower, but sheets and window protection meant we never had trouble with mosquitoes or bugs. And thanks to our Manaus driver Eduardo, who sold us a good torch that we used to spot Caiman. Much appreciated to the whole team at Dolphin lodge ❤️

We especially loved the forest barbecue and sleeping a night in a hammock. We did about two excursions a day, each one different and special. Jamerson and Daniel were fantastic guides, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the regional food was delicious. The transport both ways went smoothly too.
