Pousada Pontal do Lago

Fantastic.

The location right by the Sapucai River is excellent, and the breakfast is generous. The rooms have air conditioning, and for someone who just wants a comfortable place to sleep without bringing anything, it’s a ten. But we needed somewhere we could cook and bring our own food and drinks, so it didn’t work for us. The hotel needs to communicate better: guests should be told that outside food and drinks aren’t allowed, even if they don’t ask.

We came for lunch, and the visit was worth it. The food was simple and very well prepared, with a spectacular view. They could invest a little more in the tables and chairs to make things more comfortable.

The place is very pretty, but our stay left us really unhappy. We booked a pousada with a pool so we could rest, swim, and fish. The pool was dirty and didn’t seem to be treated properly, and the shower didn’t work. We only used the pool once and left before our planned checkout because of its condition. We weren’t satisfied with the stay. The fishing access was also different from what we expected. It turns out fishing is only possible by boat, and the pictures didn’t show the current situation. We brought our fishing gear but couldn’t use it. When booking, nobody told us the pousada had no restaurant, or whether we could bring prepared food and drinks. We left very dissatisfied and don’t recommend it.
