Pousada Vila Sol

The place is small and a little way from the center, maybe a 10-minute walk, but they’ve put so much care into the details that I can’t give it less than five stars. The leafy entrance and thoughtfully done common areas are so charming you almost don’t want to go into your room. Outside it there’s a corridor with a little table, a hammock, and a small sofa. The cleanliness stood out as soon as I walked in. It wasn’t just very clean, it was the best-smelling room I’ve stayed in, even compared with big hotels, and that scent lasted until the last day. There’s no mini-fridge, but the manager offered from day one to keep anything we needed in the kitchen fridge, which was really nice. The room has a TV and wardrobe, and the bed is huge, with lots of pillows and a lovely duvet. The bedside lamps give it a cozy feel. Breakfast came with a beautifully set table, and they made eggs and tapioca to order. There’s also a reading corner with two sofas and a pile of good books for guests. The manager, whose name I’m embarrassed to say I can’t remember, deserves a special mention. She was polite, helpful, and attentive, with great taste in music. She plays soft background music in the shared areas, runs everything on her own, and still found about 10 minutes to sit and chat with us, get to know us, and offer tips on just about everything. It’s a minimalist place, so it may not suit you if you want something fancy or right near the center. Only one car fits inside, so ours had to stay in front of the pousada, and there’s no pool, in case that matters to you. I really value good service, and they were terrific at that. I’d definitely return.

It feels like staying in a comfortable home, with lots of greenery, huge rooms, and a great homemade breakfast. The attentive, friendly family takes care of everything. The air conditioning, showers, and other equipment all worked properly, and the place was clean. I have allergies, and my nose has become a good dust detector, but I slept normally, so even the air conditioner filter seemed to be in good shape. There’s no mini-fridge in the rooms, but the family let us use their fridge for a few things. I left with a lovely impression of the greenery, the pleasant simplicity of the decor and rooms, and the care from the owners.

From the photos on this platform, the landscape looks beautiful, and the place seems like a lovely spot for a weekend with family, to relax and enjoy yourself. São Miguel do Gostoso is a big city with plenty to offer, though I won’t get into comparisons with where I live. I haven’t visited this place myself, so I can only go by what I see here. The setting looks pleasant and private, and the service seems good. I’d recommend it to someone looking for that kind of atmosphere, while still suggesting they check the place, its quality, space, and prices on different sites before booking. Being close to the beach can be an advantage, but that doesn’t guarantee every place is good. I don’t have much more to say, but it looks like a great place to spend a relaxing weekend. Dona Edilene was so attentive and caring, and the service was excellent. The room was clean and tidy, and breakfast was delicious. It’s an experience worth having.
