The old-style architecture gives the place a nice feel, and it’s a good option when visiting The waterfalls. It’s decent value for money: the bedroom was good, with AC, a hot shower, and clean sheets and towels. The beds were okay, and while the mattress wasn’t the best, it was enough for a couple of days. Breakfast had a good range, including juice, coffee, milk, cakes, scrambled eggs, and bread. The problem was the mosquitoes. My room was full of them, and when I asked the help desk for pesticide or something to kill them, they didn’t have any. They said they’d buy some, but after waiting three hours, I checked again and they still hadn’t. I ended up sleeping with loads of mosquitoes.

What stayed with me most was how warmly everyone treated me. The women working there and Sr. Gilberto, the owner, were wonderful, and I felt looked after every day, almost like I was at home. The pousada itself is charming and in a great spot, so I’d happily recommend it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

There are antiques all over the pousada, which gives it a real step-back-in-time feel. It’s also centrally located, near the church and lots of restaurants, with a peaceful central square that’s nice for a walk or for families. The place is cozy and well set up, and I felt at home.

Breakfast was tasty, but I had no water in my room by morning. There had been hot water the night before; when I got up to brush my teeth and shower, nothing came out, and there still wasn’t any by noon. A staff member told me that room often has water problems. If that happens so often, why put guests in a faulty room? The stay wasn’t a pleasant experience, and I’d been assigned a different room from the one I booked.
