Duro Beach Hotel

The rooms are very clean, though a little dated and probably due for an update. The food is very good, which is a big plus, and the hotel is in a great location. I’ll definitely stay here again.

Breakfast was a highlight for us: lots of good vegetarian choices, amazing sweets, delicious scrambled eggs, and a detox juice we really liked. The staff there were super friendly and always smiling. The hotel is right on the beach, overlooking the sea and kite surfers, and you can walk to everything in Cumbuco. We had a wonderful stay at Duro. Our room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed, an amazing sea view, and a balcony. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Some wall pegs for towels or clothes would be useful, but otherwise we had no complaints. We’d definitely recommend this hotel if you’re going to Cumbuco. Thank you!

The walk straight out to the beach is unbeatable, and I felt safe here. I’ve stayed during the quieter Mar/Apr low season for direct beach access, and it was peaceful each time. I’ve heard it can get loud through the night during peak kite season. It’s a great beach hotel/pousada for work or fun, with full service. The staff are a real strength. Within hours they know who you are and your room number. Everyone from reception to the restaurant team is kind and friendly. I arrived early with no rooms ready, but they did their best to get one ready quickly. The rooms are decent, I’d give them 4/5 stars. I stay at Hilton a lot, so by that standard it’s missing a little, but it’s a beach resort, not a Hilton, and otherwise has everything you need at the beach. Breakfast is nice, with good coffee, fruit, regularly changing hot items, lots of bread and cakes, cold cuts, and juice. Lunch and dinner were nice too. Most of the dishes I tried were good, and the pasta is very good if you want something simple. I loved their lime juice. They have good drinks and cold beer, with tables on the beach sand inside the compound.

The Halloween dance floor is set up on the sand, so be ready to go without shoes. Only the VIP area has a solid floor.
