Hotel Vila Das Dunas Cumbuco

I was a bit worried after reading the reviews, but I went anyway and had a really calm, comfortable stay. The room was clean and organized, the bed was comfortable and quiet, the jacuzzi worked perfectly, and reception was very quick. The inn is open 24 hours. The pool isn’t very appealing, as people say: it’s shallow and peeling a bit, but you can still swim. Breakfast is good for the price, with the usual simple inn fare, just don’t expect a Michelin five-star spread. It’s best for people who want peace and rest. If you want to drink and play music, it probably isn’t the right place. For stays longer than three days, Wai-Wai may be better since it has several attractions. The street feels a bit odd because it’s the last one, but there’s nothing much to it and it isn’t dangerous. There’s parking only for motorcycles. You can walk to the town center by going down the same street, though. My room photo was taken before checkout, so forgive the rumpled bed. I’ll definitely come back ❤️

Don’t book with this inn! I made a reservation and had to cancel well in advance. They told me the refund would take 10 business days, but I waited and heard nothing. I’ve sent several messages asking for an update, and the company is completely ignoring me.

We liked the accommodation, and breakfast was fairly generous, though there could be more dishes to choose from. The kitchen staff were perfect and very friendly. The problem was at reception: when paying, I clearly said CREDIT, but the receptionist put it through as debit on a card I don’t use for debit. The next day, I opened the app and saw the stay amount had been charged against my bank account, leaving me owing the bank. I was alarmed because I didn’t recognize the amount at first, then checked the statement and saw the inn’s name. Reception wasn’t willing to help and said there was no way to solve it. I was left with a bank debt I didn’t have the balance to pay at the time, while the receptionist acted like nothing had happened. The place also feels very strange at night. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

For anyone else who felt unsure after reading the other reviews, here’s what stood out to me. It’s good value if you want a simple place just to shower and sleep, without spending much time at the inn. The pool isn’t very appealing for adults, but kids can enjoy it. Breakfast is basic but does the job, with bread, tapioca, cake, eggs, sausage, couscous, juice, coffee, cereal, yogurt, and more. The bathroom is organized and has an electric shower. The room has air conditioning, a mini-fridge, and a TV, but the bed was disappointing: two single beds had been pushed together, and both were uncomfortable and noisy. Cars are parked in front of the inn, where there’s a camera and a guard. It’s quiet around there because the inn faces the dunes, and it’s quite close to the center, though I think walking there is dangerous.
