Tru by Hilton Chapecó

I would never recommend this place. I’ve stayed in hotels for years, both for work and privately, and I’ve never seen this level of amateurism, rudeness, and disregard for a customer. I went through an experience here that was deeply embarrassing. The hotel didn’t issue the invoice my company required, and as a result the company deducted that amount from me. I had to file complaints with PROCON and through a police report. This place is terrible.

We stayed at Tru by Hilton in Chapecó because of an exam being held in town. The hotel is new and well located, and our room was clean, cozy, and laid out well. Still, several things fell short of what I expected from the Hilton brand. It may work for a short stay, but perhaps not for a longer one. Check-in was slow, there was only one receptionist when we arrived, and there’s no self-service option. Nobody properly explained how the hotel works, either. Getting to reception is awkwardly signed: we had to take the stairs, and we couldn’t find an elevator. The route also passes through staff areas, including the time clock area, which doesn’t make a good impression. The garage is tight, shared and rotating, and costs extra even though it’s in the same building as the hotel. There’s only one entrance and exit for cars, with a narrow approach and a fairly low gate that could make it hard or impossible for larger vehicles to get in. The pillow was very uncomfortable, and the minibar made noise at night and disturbed our sleep. The shower is fixed in place, which made it difficult for my wife to shower without getting her hair wet. Breakfast is served in an open area behind reception, rather than in a separate enclosed space. The food is exposed, and you eat while watching people come and go. There isn’t much variety, especially for sweets and cakes, and we couldn’t find options for people with dietary restrictions or allergies.

The hotel is modern, lovely, very new, and in a good location. The rooms are medium-sized, the bed and shower were excellent, and everything was very clean. The pillows could be better, but we still slept well. Breakfast was tasty. Vegan, lactose-free, or gluten-free options would be a nice addition. Síria was fantastic, so friendly and attentive. We’d read reviews saying the parking was really tight and were worried, but we had our Ranger pickup and managed just fine. It is a bit narrow, but we went down the ramp and parked on the first level without any trouble. The second basement level might be tighter, but we found a great spot on the first one. I’d recommend the hotel and would stay again. One tip: the price on Booking was better than booking directly with the hotel.

I’ll be honest: I booked through Booking in the name of Tiago Junior Barp for a work trip on 06/02/2026, and the service was lacking. The attendant didn’t give me all the information I needed or the reception phone number. There was no folder with drink and food prices in the lobby, at reception, or in the room, and there’s no room service. At night, before going to bed, I asked for a blanket and an extra pillow. I couldn’t believe I had to go down from the 10th floor and pick them up at reception because nobody could bring them. When I got there, I waited 10 minutes for someone to show up. I also had to pay for parking, even though it’s part of the building, and the garage was left open all night without security. Breakfast was very good, but the food wasn’t labeled, so I had to guess what everything was. I wouldn’t recommend it for a long stay. For one night it might be okay, but there are hotels in town at the same price with ten-out-of-ten service. There’s a lot to improve.
