Pousada e Restaurante Gurugy

Restaurante gurugy is the best restaurant on the south coast. The food is wonderful and the service is top-notch. The dogs are very clean, and they go for a swim at the beach every day. If you don’t like animals, you don’t even like yourself! I highly recommend it. Just look at the restaurant’s Instagram, they’re always being invited to talk about their cooking.

We were passing through Jacumã, and the restaurant we’d gone to last time was closed. We spotted this one from a distance. It has a big, airy dining area, bathrooms, and somewhere to park. Our food took a while to arrive, but the home-style cooking was decent. We ordered two executive meals and fried cassava. The cassava tasted like fish, and some pieces were over-fried, so we didn’t finish it. The price seemed fair. When we paid, we found out there was a 10% service charge. My husband paid it, and at least there was that option, since around here there often isn’t much choice. The food and service were okay, but I wouldn’t come back.

We came for lunch and ordered executive meals because of the time. We specifically asked for the beef steaks to be rare, but they brought them out tough and burnt, impossible to eat. We paid for two meals and couldn’t eat them. We won’t be back.

The owner’s service was awful. She treated customers very badly and came across as arrogant. The fish was raw.
