The biggest disappointment was breakfast. You have to ask whether there’s cheese, and they give you two slices of cheese and two of ham. The scrambled eggs are already cooked and come out cold. The only fruit was banana, watermelon, and melon, all past their best, and the juices were packaged. A friend stayed at another inn that even had kiwi and yogurt. Breakfast at my home is much better than what this inn serves, and there are other lovely places near the center with a much more impressive spread. If you don’t mind that, go ahead, but I can’t recommend it. I do want to congratulate the staff. The building itself is interesting and pleasant. Our room seemed to have had recent work done, but the minibar was on the floor. There was no table or chair, and no full-length mirror. I hope those things are just because the room is new.

The inn is simple and cozy, and the location is great, close to town. Breakfast was a letdown, though. You have to ask for cheese, ham, and eggs, and having to request slices one at a time made me feel a little awkward. I’m used to seeing those items laid out for guests at hotels. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. And Pretinha, the sweet, well-mannered little dog, deserves a mention too. She greets guests with so much affection, says good morning every day, and even sees them off.

Paula at reception made our first weekend in Conservatória so much better. From booking through checkout, she was kind and always ready to help, with suggestions for good places, guidance on outings, and information about the area. The inn itself is lovely, and our chalet was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but good. We had a wonderful weekend at Mama África. Thank you, Paulinha!

The staff were so helpful, and we were charmed right from the warm welcome at reception. We felt at home, and all the tips they gave us came in handy. When we return to town, we already know where we’ll stay.
