Hotel Lara 10 Curitiba

It's about a 10-minute walk to the center, so the location is good. The hotel didn't meet our expectations overall. Our room was small, had no mini-fridge, and offered just a two-door wardrobe with no little tables for our belongings. The breakfast area was cramped. The cakes came in several varieties, but the rolls seemed stale, not baked that day, and the breakfast cutlery could be better. Service was just okay. We had to get and pay for all our water at reception, and when we were leaving, a woman insisted on charging us for two bottles from our room. In the end, pay a little more and stay somewhere more comfortable.

We left after just 15 minutes and asked for a refund, which they promptly gave us. The room was tiny and had no comforts, and it was filthy. It clearly hadn't been cleaned properly, and even the sheets hadn't been changed. There were hairs tangled all over the bed and pillows, from who knows where, and the bathroom looked like waste from a hair removal center. Disgusting. The building didn't make a great first impression when we arrived, but being basic wasn't the issue. We only booked because the other hotels in Curitiba were full. Extremely disappointing. I don't recommend it.

Breakfast had a good spread: cakes, eggs, sausage, savory pie, bread for sandwiches, juice, coffee, and milk. The service was very good, and I was made to feel welcome. My double room was small, but it worked well for me and was clean and well cared for. Even with busy traffic on the street, outside noise seemed well controlled, and the room had good sound insulation. Highly recommend it.

The service and location were great. There's a good bakery nearby, along with places serving delicious Shawaba. I went to Teatro Guaíra, which is very close, and don't miss the 43° Oficina de Música de Curitiba. I highly recommend it.
