Rockefeller by Slaviero Hotéis

We’re travelling with our baby and heading to the airport soon, and the team couldn’t have been more considerate or helpful. They’ve been the politest, most thoughtful hotel team I’ve met in Brazil. I haven’t checked out yet, but I wanted to say how amazing they are. Dinner and breakfast were lovely, and the rooms are very good value. This is definitely the best place I’ve stayed on our trip, and I couldn’t recommend it more.

The room looked great at first, spacious and well kept. The staff were generally kind, and the receptionist offered to have a technician check the air conditioning when I reported that it hadn't worked for the first two nights, even after I set it to 30°. I was then told the issue needed special service and I'd have to move to the room next door. Nobody helped me pack or carry my things, and the replacement room was a few square meters smaller and didn't look as nice. I thought they might offer a free dinner, a minibar discount, or at least an apology for the inconvenience. They didn't. For what I paid, I expected more.

Breakfast was amazing, really tasty, and very clean. The rooms are good, though they feel dated. I couldn't use the hot tub because it looked very old, with mold all around the tub's silicone. When we checked out, four people were free at the counter, but nobody offered to help with our luggage. It's not a bad hotel, but it feels a bit expensive for what it offers, though the location may account for that.

I've been here for events rather than staying overnight, though I did get to see the bedrooms at one of them and thought they were very good. The public restaurant served an excellent dinner, and breakfast was excellent too when I went with a friend. Getting around from here is handy: the bus station, downtown, and Municipal Market are nearby, there's a shopping mall and a good supermarket, Festval, right beside it, and the airport shuttle stop is less than 100 meters away. I really recommend the place.
