Granville Hotel

The rooms were clean and fairly quiet, and the cafe de manha was good. The pillows in my room were inadequate at best, but the front desk wouldn't give me an extra one.

I liked the coffee and the range of hot dishes at breakfast, and the bathroom was clean. The staff were attentive, and the service was fine. It’s a cozy place with modernist architecture. I’d recommend it.

The staff were the best part of my stay: everyone was polite and helpful, especially the young woman who cleaned the rooms. The price is very low, and the room itself was okay, quiet, and had a comfortable bed. I felt safe in the neighborhood, even though it isn’t especially appealing, and my stay wasn’t bad. I’d consider coming back if the repairs were done. The bathroom looked awful. The shower floor and the different paint colors made the walls and floor look dirty, though they weren’t actually dirty. I was hesitant to shower because I worried I might get some kind of fungus. The towels were clean but very old, and the safety chain on the main door was broken. Maybe the low price is because of these issues. I understand the hotel may be being remodeled, but rooms with such an unpleasant appearance shouldn’t be rented out. The bathroom and door chain need fixing before another guest stays there.

It’s a very basic hotel, but good for the price. Breakfast was decent, though I wished there were a little more protein.
