SLAVIERO Curitiba Centro

The location is right in the heart of the city, breakfast has lots of good food, and the building looks great inside and out and was very clean. The staff were welcoming. Unfortunately, the problems with the electronics really dragged down the stay. The WiFi was terrible and never worked properly, so we gave up and used mobile data instead. The room TV looked at least 15 years old and wasn't a Smart TV. At one point the electronic door lock stopped working completely, and staff had to replace its batteries and re-magnetize our key cards. The air conditioning unit was dirty and made me sneeze for a day after I turned it on. Room service was poor too. One of my shirts went missing, then we found out it had been taken by mistake while staff collected the towels. Thankfully, it was later recovered and brought back to me. Overall the experience was pretty okay, and everything that wasn't an electronic device worked well. But the internet was so bad it was infuriating, and along with the lock issue and missing shirt, it pulled my rating down quite a lot.

Check-in is usually smooth, the valet parking is handy, and the rooms are large and clean, with decent mattresses. Breakfast is okay, and the staff are friendly and understanding. Still, the WiFi is the worst I've had at any hotel. It can take over a minute to send a WhatsApp message, Instagram videos won't load, and streaming isn't possible. If you need to work, you'll have to find somewhere else. It's not usable for work or play, and it's 2025, people need WiFi to work. I've also had bathroom leaks on two separate stays. During one of them, the bathroom was clogged, and they asked me to unclog it myself instead of moving me to another room, even though one was available. I love the location and like the hotel, but these problems really need to change.

The staff were very friendly and keen to help, and the room was calm, spotless, and set up just right for what I needed at the time. It was compact, but comfortable. I liked the informal industrial feel at Slaviero, and the hotel feels like unusually good value for the area. I'd happily recommend it.

The location and breakfast are both good. The air conditioners are really loud and made it hard to sleep, the WiFi was bad on the 10th floor, and only one receptionist spoke English.
