OYO Hotel Tereza Curvelo

We used to think of this hotel as a good place to spend a night on a trip. We stayed there six years ago, but what we found this time, in January 2026, was disappointing. It seems the management may have changed, which is a shame. My daughter and her husband had torn towels in their room. The bed wood and baseboards were worn, looking as if rats had gnawed them or termites had eaten away at them. A cockroach showed up in the bathroom and escaped through the window. When I mentioned it to the night attendant, he said, “You just kill cockroaches.” The bathroom door wouldn't close properly, and they didn't provide soap. Breakfast was very poor. A terrible experience.

The staff were polite, but breakfast was very basic. What I really hated was the musty smell in the room. The pillow was ready to be thrown away, and the bathroom was awful and could have been looked after much better.

The women working in the kitchen deserve credit, but breakfast was far too simple. The rooms don't get much air, and some could use a renovation. The owner could leave the room doors open to let air in more often.

The reception staff were very nice, though the place itself was disappointing. There was a lot of mold in the rooms, and the bathrooms looked as if someone had only splashed water around instead of cleaning them. There were no towels, and reception said they didn't have any. Parking spaces are scarce, so several times during the night we had to move our car to let the one in front get out.
