Hotel Casa Nostra

A simple, decent spot with a bed, air conditioning, a TV, and breakfast.

The shower sent more water over the top than out below, and the mattress had black stains. Some bits of wood with nails in them were being used as furniture, the fan was tied up with string, and the bed creaked like it might break. We tried the minibar, but it wouldn't turn on. Electrical wires were exposed, and there was barely room to shower in the stall. Then breakfast arrived: cold coffee, cheese with droopy edges, ham so pale or see-through you can take your pick, and a cake that needed a hammer to soften it. We spent the night and the next day laughing about it, though really, it was embarrassing. You'd never believe it from the building's exterior. Never again.

This was the worst place I've ever been in. The room had just one outlet, so it was either the TV, the Sky device, or the minibar. If you need to use a laptop, forget it. That only socket is three meters from the desk. The air conditioner had its edges held on with a Band-Aid. There are plenty of better places in town. Don't fall for the talk about a super-luxury room with air conditioning.

The place is old, but still feels cozy, and the service was excellent. The air conditioner was old too, but it cooled the room really well. For two people, the room was worth the price and cost less than a hotel. I'd definitely come back.
