I was scammed by this place in 2020. I booked a few days and they asked me to transfer 50% of the price, R$ 638, directly to their account. Then the pandemic and lockdown meant everything had to be canceled, because the island was closed to tourists and flights weren't possible. The property told me I could use the booking another time. I tried to rebook many times, but they stopped replying to my WhatsApp messages and emails. I later went to the island, booked somewhere else, and visited the property to speak with someone, but nobody was there. The neighbors seemed afraid to say anything about who owned it. They never contacted me about a refund, even long after the pandemic was over. Avoid this place. Never transfer money directly to their account.

We stayed four nights and had a really good time. We didn't pay ahead, and they accepted cash in USD when we arrived. The lady was super kind to us. There was no breakfast service, but they provided cutlery, coffee, tea, and hot water. Our room was small but nice and clean. The location was the best part, really close to the center, and you can walk to praia do cachorro.

The room was cleaner and tidier than I expected. I arrived a little late, but Deborah helped me with check-in. It's in a great location too, and I'd definitely go back.

The place was very clean, well located, and had what we needed. The owner was great to communicate with on WhatsApp. We could make something in the shared area, though there didn’t seem to be anywhere nearby for breakfast, as the previous spot may have closed. Sleep was harder, with a rooster crowing outside the window early in the morning, and the mattress felt small and a bit uncomfortable.

We booked with free cancellation and paid 50% to hold the reservation. They said we’d get that money back if we cancelled, but after we did, they didn’t refund us. Booking eventually helped us get the money back, not the accommodation. The service was awful. I went to Noronha and will stay at pousada Junco again, where everything was perfect. Never again at Maré suits!
