The owners Carlos and Maria took my £300 (R$ 2,280) and, in my experience, showed no empathy or even acknowledged what I was going through. I lost so much already by cancelling my travel plans, and I’m still dealing with the pain and stress, while they kept the money. I’m shocked and disgusted by how they handled it, and I have nothing good to say about this business. I do not recommend Noronha Hostel to anyone. I knew booking with only 2-3 reviews was a risk, but I wanted to support what seemed to be a new business. I booked on 30 October. Three days later, my dad had a stroke, so I cancelled my plans and flew back to Europe on 2 of Nov. The next day, I requested a free cancellation because of these unforeseen circumstances. My booking was non-refundable, but customer support asked the owners to make an exception and approve the request. My father died on 4 of Nov. Then nothing happened. For the next 20+ days, Carlos and Maria never responded to me once. I called several times. At first the phone rang, then their number became unreachable. I emailed and messaged through booking.com. I even asked a local tour guide to go there in person and explain what had happened. Still no reply, even though the owners knew I’d lost my father and was in serious distress. All they did was keep my booking until it expired.

The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Having a kitchen available was handy, especially with a supermarket nearby. We had a great time and could walk to some lovely beaches. Totally recommend it!

We were close to restaurants, beaches, and tourist spots, which made getting around easy. The room was so comfortable, with a big, cozy bed that was perfect after a day out. The air-conditioning kept it cool and pleasant. I had an excellent stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend it for comfort, convenience, and good value.

Suite 1 was great, clean and spacious, with a large bathroom and air-conditioning that cooled the room well. There’s a basic but tidy kitchen with a stove, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and electric griddle. It’s 750 meters from the little square. Noise was the one downside during our stay.

The shared area was cozy, and the kitchen was fully equipped with a fridge that worked well. The hostel was clean and organized, with a comfortable bed and hot shower. The person in charge comes by every day to tidy up and put flowers around the house. I got startled by noises in the ceiling until I realized they were the mabuias, not rats. Noronha is preserved, so there are lots of little creatures around. Don’t panic if you see five lizards at the bathroom window, and keep the window shut, haha. Also, the smell of the bed wood can be mistaken for rat pee. I loved it here and recommend it!
