Pousada Santú

The inn is well located near the port, which made tours easier, and the view over the outer sea is beautiful. But that was about all we liked. The room smelled moldy, and the curtains didn't look like they were washed often. The bathroom was dark, had no window, looked dirty, and had very dark grout. It wasn't pleasant to shower there. One day the cleaning worker left cleaning product on the sink. The next day we returned from the beach to find our room empty and left completely open, with cleaning product on the bed where my daughter had been sleeping. I found that unhygienic. We know we were on an island, but expected a lot more from breakfast. There were few choices, and even something simple like cake was missing. The selection shrank day by day. On our last morning they brought just four mini rolls for three people and no milk, even though we'd asked for it. One day the tapioca came with two tiny slices of tomato that weren't fresh and tasted sour. Another day the plain yogurt tasted old and sour, so we didn't eat it. There was even water separated on top. The only staff member at the inn didn't seem happy to help. She questioned our request for beach towels, asking why we'd asked for four towels for two days at the beach, even though there were three of us, including a small child. I wasn't going to dry her with a sandy towel after the beach. Our hand towels also weren't changed for five days and had turned yellow.

Monalysa greeted us with so much kindness and attention. The inn was quiet, the suites private and discreet, and breakfast was delicious. It's already making me want to go back.

The view over the outer sea is beautiful, and we spent some special time just taking it in. Monalysa and Dona Cila also gave us wonderful support throughout the stay, with truly excellent service. Our room was rustic, nicely decorated, and spacious, with a private veranda where breakfast was served. The breakfasts were delicious. The shower could be better, and the road to the inn is in poor condition.

The team were helpful, flexible, and ready to pitch in. Since there was availability, they let us check in early and check out later. There was plenty of room to sort out our bags and diving gear. The inn is less than a five-minute walk from praia do porto, where you can get generous lunches at fair prices and find the best spot for snorkeling. There's also a hill right beside the inn with a beautiful view of both sunrise and sunset. I'd recommend staying here.
