Pousada Tubarão

We could walk to the beach and some of the island’s top restaurants, and the property was close to a bus stop. The staff were kind and responsive, and room cleaning was prompt and thorough. My only drawback was the price compared with the quality, as is the case with most services on the island. That’s why I gave it four stars instead of five.

The room was a 10: comfortable bed, large TV with sky, new and clean air conditioning, pest-treated space, and soap and shampoo from natura/boticário. The staff also get a 10. Everyone was friendly, especially the receptionist who seemed to be Argentine, the older woman in the dining room, and the man there too. Breakfast was another 10. The older woman was lovely, and the man who also cooks was really nice. The tapioca with queijo coalho and the scrambled eggs were outstanding. The only thing to improve was the fruit, though I imagine the location makes it hard to keep fruit fresh. Everything else was perfect. I’d give the location a 9. It’s right in Vila dos Remédios, close to everything. On weekends, events in the little square can make some noise, but only a little. Price gets a 7: the inn is excellent, but it costs more than I think it’s worth. Still, that’s normal in Noronha. Sustainability also gets a 7. Visitors to Noronha should care about tourism’s impact. For an inn in such an untouched location, I think sustainability should be a real priority. I didn’t see renewable energy or solar panels, and recyclable waste wasn’t separated, since I saw plastic bottles mixed with other trash. They do reuse rainwater, though, and there are lots of trees and permeable areas. My final score would be 4.5 out of 5. Would I stay again? Maybe, but I’d look at other options too. I think they should improve sustainability and ease up on the prices.

We felt very welcome. The location is the big advantage: right in Vila dos Remédios, near restaurants, markets, a taxi stand, and the Catholic church. The facilities were clean, well maintained, and practical, and the team was capable, attentive, and friendly. It fully met our expectations. The only thing we missed was a chair or armchair in the room. The inn gets our full approval!

Being in the center is handy, with several restaurants and beautiful beaches nearby, and the staff are super attentive. The accommodation is excellent, and breakfast has a good variety. Since it’s downtown, though, nighttime noise may bother some people.
