Vila Mar Pousada

We stayed for 6 nights and would recommend it. The location is a real advantage, and the place is clean and cozy. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed, dishes, a coffee maker, sandwich press, and minibar, which made our days there much easier. There’s also a shared kitchen that covers the basics well. It’s good value, and both the owner and receptionist were very helpful.

Fabi, the owner, was very attentive. She replied quickly and sorted out small issues, including a burned-out electric shower. The room had the simple, functional setup typical of Noronha: a comfortable bed, TV, capsule coffee maker, minibar, and sandwich press, plus there’s a shared kitchen. Taxis can’t drive down the street, so we had to carry our bags about 50m over dirt and stones, though that wasn’t a major problem for us. The biggest issue was the noise in the front rooms. They have typical island-style wooden walls with poor sound insulation, so you can clearly hear conversations next door. A nearby market gets deliveries almost every morning, with a truck and people talking loudly. There’s a mechanic’s workshop on the other side, and a neighbor’s rooster goes there every night and starts crowing before dawn. It sounds like it’s right in the room, making sleep impossible. Trying to rest in the afternoon wasn’t much better, with engines being tested and tools banging. The brick rooms at the back would probably be quieter. Otherwise, it might not feel very relaxing.

The service was impeccable, the rooms were cleaned daily, and the location was great. The shower had hot water, and the air conditioning worked well and was quiet.

Larissa and Sol were so friendly and helpful. We had a really good stay at Vila Mar, with a spacious room and decent facilities. The inn is simple, but it’s in a great spot in Vila dos Remédios. The cobbled, unpaved street means taxis don’t come down it, though that never caused us any trouble. Great value for the money.
