Hotel Fernandópolis

Great.

I’ve stayed here before, back when it went by other names. This visit, though, brought several things to my attention, and not in a good way. The room had no air-conditioning control, so I had to ask reception for one, and it took a while to arrive. The free safe also wouldn’t let me set a code because its control screen was off. They fixed that, but the access screen still wasn’t programmed, so I had to call maintenance again before it was sorted out. There was no list of the drinks and snacks in the room, which meant we had no way to know their prices. We used two 300 ml bottles of water and one chocolate drink. Those items cost around R$ 3,00 and R$ 5,00 respectively in the market, yet at checkout came the unpleasant surprise: we were charged R$ 48,00 for them. What justifies such an excessive charge for two bottles of water and a chocolate drink? The hotel should set prices that are reasonable and fair to its customers. As an older guest, I couldn’t park in the reserved spaces on any day of our stay. One space in particular, the one for people with disabilities, was occupied every day by a vehicle without a permit card. It looked like it might belong to a hotel employee. This suggests a lack of oversight by hotel management and disrespect for the laws in force, including the Older Persons Statute and the Statute of Persons with Disabilities. Breakfast was standard, much like at other hotels. During our stay, I noticed there was only one employee restocking the food, and she was constantly rushing back and forth to the kitchen. I should remind the company that charging an excessive price without just cause is an abusive practice prohibited by the Consumer Defense Code (Art. 39, X). It can amount to an illegal price increase and, in some cases, a crime against the popular economy. Consumers can report unjustified increases or price discrepancies to Procon and Consumidor.gov.br. Those are my observations. The hotel administration should respect its customers and charge fair prices. Thank you.

The rooms are very good, and the hotel is conveniently right by the shopping mall. Breakfast was excellent. Kauã, Gabi, and Camilly at reception were wonderful with their service, 1,000 out of 1,000 each. For me, one downside is that the invoice should be issued as soon as payment is made. Also, when I needed to call to make a reservation, the phone service was disappointing, really awful.

Being next to the shopping mall made it easy to go shopping, wander around, or find somewhere to eat without traveling far. I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel felt cozy and peaceful, and the room was comfortable, clean, and well organized. The breakfast was simple but satisfying. A bit more variety would have been nice, though it covered the basics well. The best part was the service: everyone was polite, friendly, and helpful. One woman in particular treated me with such kindness and attention that it made a real difference. I’m sorry I forgot her name, but I want to thank her and send lots of praise her way. A lovely stay, and I’d definitely come back. 🌷
