Boulevard Central Canasvieiras Hotel

The staff were friendly, but that didn’t make up for the rest, and I don’t think this place was worth what we paid. We stayed for six days at the end of the year, my friend and I, after booking through Booking. When we arrived, we weren’t sure it was the right hotel because the name had changed, now it’s Palm Beach Hotel or something like that, with no notice online or there. Booking showed an option to split the reservation cost into up to 5 payments, but they said we had to pay all at once, more than 4K. We had to speak to the manager or owner to get installments, and they added interest. The staff didn’t speak Portuguese and had trouble understanding us. They first put us in a smaller room with a double bed, even though we’d booked a balcony room with 3 single beds, so we had to wait to get the right one. There’s only one elevator, and sometimes it doesn’t work. The minibar didn’t cool, and we had to ask them to change the sheets because housekeeping only stretched them out even when they were dirty. Breakfast was disappointing, with little variety and the same things every day: bread, cake, two kinds of fruit, coffee, and juice. When checking out, I had to pay 50 reais for a bath towel they’d kept in a rubbish bag since the second day because it had makeup on it and they said the laundry couldn’t remove the lipstick stains. It was awful to hear about this only when leaving. They could have told me that day so I could plan for the extra cost. We’ve stayed at another hotel in Floripa and had a very good experience. This one needs a lot of improvement, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The housekeeping women and kitchen staff deserve my thanks, especially the cook and the Cuban guy serving breakfast. They were so kind to my kids, asking if they wanted something different to eat and even offering other kinds of cereal. On our last day, our whole group needed breakfast at 6:30, but a new guy made us wait because he wanted a little promotional video for the hotel. We didn’t take part, and I heard others in the group refused too after the way he treated us. At first he wouldn’t give us hot water, saying the order came from management, even though we’d had mate at the buffet every day and never took the hot water away. The kitchen staff had to deal with it when it wasn’t their issue. He also stopped people from getting eggs until after the video, calling it “training.” At reception, apart from one woman, the others had poker faces. The location was good enough that I might have considered coming back, but after that last day I’d rather find somewhere else.

The pool was clean, and our room was in perfect condition and super comfortable. From the kitchen to reception, everyone gave us excellent service from the first day through the last. Thanks for making the vacation so enjoyable. We had a wonderful holiday 😊💞 Hernán and Sole
