Vila Campeche Residencial

We loved our stay over the November 20 holiday and will definitely come back. The rooms are really spacious chalets, and all the greenery makes the pousada charming. It’s also wonderfully located, just a few meters from the beach entrance.

My daughter and I felt right at home here. It’s a cozy, safe place with a family atmosphere, and a good fit if you’re after some peace and quiet. The beach is close enough to walk to.

The property is attractive and has potential, but the privacy issues made the stay uncomfortable. The owners seemed like nice people, yet they kept coming to our bungalow. Their dogs were loose in the yard and repeatedly went inside the bungalows. There’s also a workshop in the middle of the bungalows. It should be in a separate area, because its noise is disturbing and affects privacy. There are barbecues, but when guests use them the owner complains. The grills provided were always dirty. During my visit I had to sand one down to remove stuck-on grime and food scraps. These are things the owners need to address before I’d feel comfortable recommending the place to someone I know.

It was a terrible stay, and I can’t recommend it. The kitchen was missing almost everything, the chalet was basic and uncomfortable, and there were lots of mosquitoes. With one rare exception, the staff seemed extremely unwilling to help with guests’ needs, which made things unpleasant. The sea was a long way off, very cold, and quite dangerous, especially for children. Shops were far away too.
