It’s an above average hotel, and my room was simple and straightforward. The breakfast has plenty to choose from, though the lounge was usually packed during high season, even on days that weren’t as sunny as expected, so finding a table was hard. Requests also took a while to be answered. The biggest drawback is that this is the only hotel in the group without a garage, so you have to pay for parking. Still, I recommend it.

The beach is very close, and the air conditioning works well. Breakfast is good, though the cafeteria gets too crowded. The rest was rough: the elevator was broken, the Wi-Fi was always at capacity and unusable, and the lobby bathroom was disgusting with no toilet paper. You could hear every word through the thin walls, and noisy neighbors woke us late at night. Our non-smoking room smelled like cigarettes, and people on our floor were smoking weed and making all kinds of noise. There’s no parking either, so we had to pay to park in a lot down the road.

The hotel looks quite nice, but that was about the only good part of our four-day stay for a youth leaders conference. My colleagues and I had a huge number of complaints. We had freezing showers every day despite repeatedly raising the issue, no taxis readily available, rude staff, and almost no sound insulation. Many rooms still weren’t ready hours after check-in. The vending machine prices changed twice, the towels were paper thin, and a clogged toilet went unfixed for a whole day. When I reported the plumbing problem, staff gave me a plunger and threatened that I’d have to pay for any damage. The receptionist then doubted that simply using the toilet could have clogged it and said nobody at the hotel could fix it. He ended the conversation abruptly with “Have a great evening” and went to work on the other side of the desk. The disrespect, lack of care for guests, and poor quality made this the worst hotel experience I’ve had in any city.

The rates are very good, the rooms are nice, and the beach is just one block away. Breakfast is nice too, though the dining room fills up fast, probably because it’s so cheap. I’d recommend it and stay again. The only downside is there’s no bidet, though that seems common in Brazil.
