Pousada Natureza

We spent ten days at Pousada Naturaleza on our first trip to Brazil, and I’m leaving this here for others to read about our experience. We arrived very late the first night, but Débora welcomed us wonderfully and kept looking after us throughout the stay. On our last day, after learning about Brazil, its culture, origins, and values, I realized how much care went into breakfast each morning. The homemade cakes brought back childhood memories. Sergio and Débora were always attentive to what we needed. The pousada feels like a pocket of native nature among all the buildings, with trees, flowers, shrubs, birdsong, and even some beautiful, playful monkeys who seem like guests themselves. My favorite spot was the barbecue area. I’d sit in the little armchair, take in Canasvieiras, and feel part of that lovely place. None of it would be possible without Débora and Sergio. I call him the navigator, the captain, the mentor: someone experienced and simple who loves nature and works hard to run his family and pousada with so much care. When we share our thoughts, let’s do it with empathy, remembering what it means for people from around the world to offer experiences, love, and affection to strangers.
