Pousada Roberto Monteiro - Frente Mar

The hotel is right across from the main beach and 100 meters from a street with shops and restaurants. They provide umbrellas, small tables, and chairs for guests at the beach, all free, and the front desk staff speak Spanish. The room was very comfortable, with a fridge and stovetop, and breakfast was spectacular. There's a heated pool, sauna, and jacuzzi, too. You can shower and leave your luggage if you have a night flight. Highly recommend it, it has everything.

The mattress was hard, the blankets were too small for the bed, and the sheet was so worn it looked ready to tear. Breakfast was disappointing too: the ham and cheese were rubbery and smelled spoiled, and the dining area felt cramped and crowded. The room advertised as having a “sea view” actually faced the side, and it was far too small compared with the photos. After we complained, they moved us to a larger room with a good view, but getting there meant climbing a lot of stairs with our bags. Checkout was at 11, and although I complained and got it extended to noon, someone still called at 11 to remind me to check out. The night receptionist was from another country and didn’t understand Portuguese well, which made communication difficult. We stayed just one night, and I don’t plan to return.

The suite had everything we needed, and the service was impeccable. It’s right on the beach in Canasvieiras, which is a great location. The only slight drawback was the mattress, which felt a little firm, though I still slept well. Everything else was top-notch.

The inns are on a side street, so during peak season the noise can be a problem. Aside from that, the location and service are unbeatable, and everything else was excellent.
