The room was cleaned to a good standard, and the location was handy for the beach. There was even a clothes rack inside the shower. A lot of things made the stay difficult, though. The building had four floors and no elevator, and the stairwell smelled of urine. My room smelled musty, the bedding didn't feel clean, the fridge was rusty, the toilet leaked, and the old mattress sagged visibly. The glass window was broken, and the air conditioning didn't work. The pool was very dirty and full of leaves. Music from nearby buildings was loud. Internet was painfully slow and hard to connect to, and I had to ask for the Wi-Fi details after check-in. The light switches were hard to find behind the bed. The TV was unusually small. The wardrobe was nice, but there were no hangers, so I couldn't use it at all.

My four-night reservation got off to a terrible start. I'd told the hotel staff I'd be arriving late and they said that was fine, but once I got there I spent half an hour in the rain yelling and banging on the gate. I called the main number too, and could hear it ringing inside. Eventually someone from the hotel next door noticed me and called a staff member to get the gate opened. After just one night, I was told to check out of my room by 11 a.m. because I had to move. The replacement room wasn't ready until 2 p.m., so I had to sit around in the lobby for three hours with nowhere to keep an eye on my belongings. Completely absurd.

The owners were always around to answer questions, and the room was cleaned every day and kept spotless. The location was excellent, too. I loved breakfast and had a fabulous stay. Thanks, I'll definitely come back!
