Aloha Hostel Fortaleza

The photos make the place look much nicer than it is. They really need to pay more attention to cleaning. Whenever I went into the bathroom, it was dirty, even just after the cleaner had left. There was dried toothpaste left behind and hair in every drain. They offer a kitchen, but there aren’t any utensils to make a proper meal, and it looks dirty too, so it doesn’t make you want to cook there.

The location is good, but avoid the capsules at all costs. They’re wooden boxes with no ventilation, like ovens, and look more like graves than anything else.

The kind staff and good breakfast make this hostel hard to beat for the price. They were even kind enough to cook eggs for me since I’m vegetarian. I’ve been stuck in Fortaleza for a while, and this has been the best hostel and stay here. The staff are wonderful, and it’s such a relaxing place, with a spot to wash clothes and a barbecue. The quality for the price can’t be beat.

We spent lots of lovely evenings there.
