Hotel Jardim

I stayed there six times, from 2019 through August 2024, and it was always great. Now Jardim do seu Abelardo has closed and been sold, and it’s going to become a Supermercado São Luís. Best wishes to Seu Abelardo’s daughter and to the wonderful staff, Antônio and Flávio. Thanks for everything.

The room had several safety and upkeep problems. The minibar was off, and when we tried to plug it in, the outlet wiring was loose and seemed like an electrical hazard. The electric shower looked as if it sparked when switched on, and the bed was flimsy and noisy. Cleaning was poor too: a used toothpick was with the glasses, there was dental floss on the floor, and biscuit packaging and a salt packet had been left behind. There’s no breakfast or room intercom to reach reception. The hotel has no identifying sign, and both the outside and inside entrance feel very strange. You also have to tell them when you’ll be back and call an employee to open the gate. It doesn’t feel like a hotel. I don’t recommend it and wouldn’t stay again.

The people here really made the stay: the staff are attentive and very kind, and D. Ritinha and Sr Flávio are just wonderful. They take care with opening and closing the gate, which made us feel our safety mattered. The hotel is close to supermarkets, restaurants, shops and the Centro Cultural, and I really liked Aldeota. We’d stay at hotel Jardim again next time we’re in Fortaleza. It’s a quiet, well-kept place, with a lovely garden. The hotel is laid out horizontally, with two suites that aren’t on the ground floor. The rooms and bathrooms are a good size, and there are comfortable beds, a wardrobe, minibar, sideboard, table, TV, air conditioning and a balcony. The entrance is discreet, with no facade, I think for guests’ security. Breakfast had the basics for a good start to the day. During our stay there were four kinds of fruit, three kinds of bread, cake, yogurt, granola, powdered milk, chocolate drink mix, tea bags, two juices, two cold cuts, Polenguinho, coffee, milk, tapioca and eggs made to order. It was served from 7 to 10.

The employees were polite, but the owner was extremely rude. She wanted payment in advance by Pix before we could even see the apartment. We also weren’t told there was no breakfast, water or other items for guests to use. Getting into the hotel is extremely difficult. I wouldn’t recommend it, and we won’t be back.
