Maly Boutique Hotel

A cozy spot with a wonderful ocean view.

Top.

I chose this hotel to rest, but I ended up having the opposite experience. The air conditioner was so loud it woke me at 4am, and after that I couldn’t get back to sleep. The soundproofing was terrible, with everything from the other rooms clearly audible. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable too. I woke up with bad back pain and hurt all day, so I couldn’t enjoy Fortaleza on my last day as planned. The room wasn’t as large or spacious as advertised, just about the size of a standard Ibis room with no special features. The bathroom counter was too tiny for even a travel toiletry bag, the lighting wasn’t suitable for putting on makeup, and the shower pressure was poor. I also found insects when I entered, which made for a dreadful first impression. Despite the name, “boutique” is only in the title. I’m sorry I didn’t read the reviews beforehand, as they would have helped me choose. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, quiet, or an experience that matches what’s advertised.

The bed and blankets were the one letdown. The covers scratched my skin and the bed wasn’t comfortable. Otherwise, everything was excellent, with a wonderful breakfast and lots of attention to detail. Talita at reception was especially polite and helped us with everything.
