Pousada Iluminare is more than somewhere to stay, it’s a place that makes you feel something. From the moment we arrived, we were met with rare warmth, genuine care, attentive listening, and a tenderness only truly exceptional hosts can offer. Every gesture, word, and detail shows the love that goes into running this place. In the serene beauty of Praia do Fortim, they manage to make every guest feel at home, seen, and deeply welcome. I’m grateful for how human and special they made our experience.

The grounds really are beautiful, the pool was a lovely temperature, the rooms were comfortable, and the cleaning was impeccable. Every staff member was very cordial, and the boat trip was fun. But breakfast was disappointing enough to cost the place a star. For what I paid and what the hotel promises, it was weak and had very few choices. On the first day there were only two kinds of fruit and one kind of juice, with no yogurt, cereal, cheese, bread, cake, or other sides. We were really let down, and it affected our stay. I think it’s worth it overall, especially if breakfast isn’t essential to you.

What a wonderful place! I felt so welcomed, and the staff were attentive and helpful, always smiling. The garden is beautiful and the pool is lovely. I really enjoyed the evening program, especially the band performance and the bonfire. The room was a spectacle in itself, so beautiful and comfortable that if the outside hadn’t been so lovely, I might never have left it. It made my top 10.

The couple has brought modern touches and rustic style together really well, right down to the smallest details. The facilities are lovely, the staff are well trained, and the chef at the restaurant is fantastic. We felt pampered throughout our stay. A little piece of paradise, and I’ll definitely return.
