Cavalo Forte Palace Hotel

Great.

The staff treated us well, but the rest of the place was in very poor shape. A simple hotel still needs to be clean. The rooms were old and poorly maintained, the sheets were worn and stained, there was hair in our bathroom sink drain, and the mattress was old and worn out. The garage at the back was full of rubbish on the floor and piles of discarded clothes. They charged us more than R$800 for four people for two days. Terrible, I don't recommend it.

Reviews can be misleading. I regretted staying here. The room was really old, the air conditioner barely worked, and the shower was awful and angled so the water sprayed at the wall. I stayed because it was just a stop for one night, but I wouldn't come back. It needs a major renovation.

I booked Hotel Carol Palace through Booking, but when I arrived, I waited outside for over an hour while the person in charge slept on a sofa. Once awake, they said they knew nothing about a reservation and didn't even check the system. There was a strong smell of cachaça, and I was treated very rudely. It was an extremely unpleasant and disappointing experience.
