We stayed as a couple for three nights. The hostel’s biggest plus is how close it is to the Brazilian side of the falls. Staff were friendly and spoke good English, and WiFi worked well in the room. The room was a decent size, but quite basic: there was air conditioning, though a gap under the door let insects in and meant the room didn’t feel sealed. Storage was just a couple of hooks, the duvet was more like a blanket, and the towels were poor quality. The shower itself was good. It’s an isolated spot with limited public transport and restaurants, so expect to rely on taxis or food delivery. The pool looked murky and not very clean, despite being described to us as natural. The atmosphere was also quiet and a bit short on energy. Breakfast choices were limited, and one morning the cake was mouldy. It’s decent value because of the proximity to the falls, but I’d say it’s better for a short stay than several nights.

Falling asleep to rainforest sounds was such a peaceful, unusual treat. It rained all day while I was there 😂, which somehow made the place feel cozy. The reception guy was incredibly friendly and welcoming too. I booked a private room at Iguassu Eco Hostel, and it was surprisingly affordable. Breakfast came with the stay and was genuinely very nice. I also tried a burger and chips from the food truck on site. I wasn’t expecting much, but it was fresh and tasty. The location was ideal for my early flight, about a 7-minute drive from the airport. I really recommend the hostel. For the price, it exceeded what I expected.

The hostel offers laundry, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend using it for several reasons. They also arrange taxis to the falls on the Argentinian side, though there was confusion about the fare. The hostel said sharing a minibus would reduce the fairly expensive cost. We paid the full price by card to the taxi driver. We were the only people from the hostel, but the regular car then picked up two more people from another hotel. When we asked the hostel, they explained the reduced fare only applied if other hostel guests shared the ride. The taxi company had clearly charged twice. We felt ripped off, though it was the taxi company, not the hostel, that did it. The reception staff spoke English, which was helpful when things went wrong. There was a campsite, but we didn’t use it because of the weather, with torrential rain on the day we left. Work was underway in neighboring rooms, and the workers tracked mud into the corridor, which we brought into our room since there were no doormats. When we left our GPS device behind, the staff were very helpful and kindly posted it to us.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, with agoutis, monkeys, and birds coming to eat the plentiful jackfruit and mandarins growing on site. It’s right next to the bird park and Foz du Iguaçu National Park entrance, and you can take a bus or Uber into town. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bathroom is new, and everything worked well. Staff were helpful and professional, and the kitchen team were accommodating at breakfast, which was done well. Good price, highly recommended, and I’d stay again.

The park entrance is just a four-minute walk away, where you can buy tickets and catch the bus to the falls. The staff here are great, and dinner burgers and fries are tasty and reasonably priced. There’s a small but useful pool, and the monkeys that visit in the morning are a nice bonus. I’d recommend camping here, though I didn’t stay in or see a room.
