The room smelled like something was burning, and the shower setup was a makeshift arrangement that gave off smoke with a burnt smell. There was no door on the shower enclosure, so water ended up all over the bathroom. The furniture was old, and the sheets were dirty and torn. Breakfast was just bread, ham, milk, and coffee. A horrible hotel.

We ended up staying here twice. The rooms are large and spacious, clean, and don't smell musty, though they're not modern. The hot water worked, but the thick blankets were very old and could do with replacing. We paid R$210,00 for one night for two adults and a child, which seemed fair given the very high prices in Foz do Iguaçu and the shortage of places to stay in Puerto Iguazú. We had a peaceful stay and the simple breakfast was very good. I'd come back, and did.

The night employee harassed me when I asked him to check why the air conditioner wasn't cooling. That was on top of the poor upkeep: dirty towels, a stained sheet, and an old air conditioner with dirty filters. The shower had no door, so bathing flooded the whole bathroom. Breakfast was so depressing they'd have been better off not serving it. This was a case of a cheap stay turning expensive. I'll never come back.

The owner was such a nice guy, friendly and easygoing. The place is also in a really good location. I recommend it and plan to come back.
