The breakfast was just OK, so don’t expect too much. It’s a good hotel, and most of the staff were friendly and polite. The exception was Victor on the night shift. When I arrived, he wasn’t welcoming and handed me the card arrogantly.

The people were kind and helpful, and it’s near the bus station, though away from the city center. Breakfast begins at 6:30, and they won’t make exceptions or prepare anything to take away, even if you have an early tour.

The pool area was really nice, and the reception was clean and beautiful. The receptionists were very friendly, too. My room had two comfortable single beds and a very good shower. Breakfast had lots of options and was amazing. I had an incredible stay and would definitely recommend it.

I arrived at the bus station as a foreigner, struggling and feeling desperate for an internet connection. I couldn’t use the terminal’s Wi-Fi without a CPF, so I asked Hotel Luz if I could use theirs and offered to pay. They just asked, “Do you have a reservation?” like robots. Humanity: zero.

The dampness was the one real problem. Our clothes felt cold and clammy when we came back, and by the last evening water was running down the corner pipe chase. I tried opening the windows to air things out. Maybe it was the slightly cooler winter weather. Still, Luz suited our two-night stop on the way to Paraguay really well. It’s right by the bus station for the next leg, and the rooms were spacious and clean. We didn’t stay long enough to try the pool. The staff were helpful, especially Rafael, whose English was excellent despite my awful attempts at Portuguese. His restaurant tips and advice on reaching the Brazilian falls helped a lot. The waterfalls were unbelievable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the bird park. Nice facilities too. I’d give it 4.5 if I could, and we were happy with our stay.
