It works well as a place to sleep while you run errands, and it’s nice that the border crossing is just three blocks away and can be crossed on foot. Rodrigo’s service was excellent. There’s no breakfast, and the garage is around the corner with no roof. Nothing happened, but the open parking made me uneasy.

The location is useful if you need to be near the bridge, about 900 meters away, but the neighborhood is completely empty at night. The rooms are clean, though there’s no room service. My room had a strong drain smell in the bathroom, but keeping the door shut took care of it. The staff were very helpful and friendly, although there was just one person at reception and one cleaning person. It’s a good place to sleep and rest after daytime outings. There’s parking nearby, though not in the building, and ordering meals through an app is easy.

The hotel is comfortable and good value, with attentive, kind reception staff. It’s very close to the border, which is handy for shopping in Paraguay, but far from the other tourist attractions.

We chose Shalfa for its proximity to Ponte da Amizade, about 600 meters from the Brazilian customs office. We first had a 40 m apartment with one open-plan room, then moved to the only option with separate rooms, a 200 m apartment. It was excessive for three people, with a bedroom for each of us, but the stay was very peaceful. The place gives you some concern at first glance, though it was quiet at night. Included parking is about 80 m away on another street, shared with a car wash. You get a gate key and an entrance key, but it’s best not to arrive too late. There’s no breakfast. This apartment has a full kitchen, while the smaller ones are more limited. For breakfast, it’s better to go closer to the center. There’s a Maxi supermarket nearby. I’d comfortably recommend it for a shopping trip to Paraguay.
