Hotel Palace Frederico

Top!

My room, 415, wasn’t clean, and the bathroom had dampness. It was a shame, since the hotel itself is lovely. I suspect there may have been a lack of supervision, because my friends’ rooms were clean. We were traveling together, and the beds and pillows were excellent. The hotel is right in the center near the church, with lots of restaurants close by. The facilities are well kept, and breakfast has a spacious room with plenty of food. I’d still recommend it.

The parking is behind the hotel, reached from the side street, which has a very steep hill. Inside, the room was roomy and comfortable, with a huge double bed. Breakfast had lots of options and was served in a large space. The reception and breakfast service were great. The hotel is right downtown, so you can walk to get a meal.

The breakfast was awful. We went down around 9 on a Saturday, and several buffet items hadn’t been replenished. The kitchen staff seemed more interested in having their own breakfast than looking after guests. At one point, while we were serving ourselves, an employee took all the omelet that was left and fished the sausages out of the sauce, leaving the containers empty. She saw us there, but nothing was refilled. We definitely won’t come back. The rooms are old, though the bed is comfortable. The pillows are old and really thin, and the minibar froze everything we put in it.
