Plaza Hotel

Good!

Great.

The hotel wasn't as new as it looked in the photos, and I expected better. I didn't use the pool because it was really dirty, with what looked like a layer of grime that hadn't been cleaned for a while, not just leaves. The bathroom was very old, and the shower faucet was broken, coming off in my hand whenever I turned it. I travel for work most weekends and usually hotels are flexible about checkout when they can see I've worked all night and sleep during the day. I was upset that this hotel wouldn't consider it. They said I had to leave at 1 p.m. or pay for another night, even though the hotel was completely empty. I only wanted to rest before continuing my trip, and it felt like a lack of empathy. I won't stay here again. There are several better hotels in town for about the same price.

The staff were especially warm and personable in all our interactions, and the parking felt secure for the car. The facilities and breakfast were excellent, and it was a great stay.
