Hotel Ferrugem Eco Village

The setting at Hotel Ferrugem Eco Village is beautiful, surrounded by nature, with animals, a pool, and hammocks for relaxing. The Buddhist-style decor is lovely and gives the place a real sense of peace. It’s also very close to the lake and Ferrugem beach, and having parking and breakfast included is really convenient. My stay has been wonderful, and I’m sure I’ll take home unforgettable memories. The service has been excellent from my first contact with reception on WhatsApp. Special thanks to Luis at reception, who’s been attentive and courteous throughout and even helped us get better payment terms. It’s been a great choice. I highly recommend it!

A quiet, beautiful spot with a cozy feel, especially nice if you like being surrounded by nature. There’s a pool, games like billiards and foosball, and tables where you can sit outside and enjoy the evening. The parking area is large, shaded, and provided by the inn. Our suite was simple but comfortable, with air conditioning, a minibar, wardrobe, TV, linens, a double bed, and a single bed. The fan in our room didn’t work, but we didn’t miss it because of the air conditioning. Breakfast was a little late, though not enough to cause a problem, and it was wonderful, with a bit of everything. Since the place is so well preserved, bugs like flies and bees do come around, and I think they could take a little more care about that. Otherwise everything was great, and the staff were very attentive.

The inn itself is charming, nicely decorated, and pleasant, and the breakfast was good. But we were put in room 9, which isn’t even shown in the photos on the website, and the room was awful. It was small, the bathroom was extremely cramped, the door was rotten and peeling, and the rusty shower enclosure was heavy to open and made a horrible noise. There wasn’t a shelf for clothes, so I had to leave them in my suitcase. I asked to change rooms, but they said nothing else was available except a family room with beds and bunk beds at a much higher price, even though we were a couple. It upset me to hear that people in the room next to ours had also complained and were moved to another couple’s room, while we were offered only family rooms. The rooms shown on the website are the more spacious couples’ rooms with bigger, airier bathrooms. They said there were none available, even though we were willing to pay the difference. I didn’t feel comfortable there at all. For the room, my rating is minus one. I won’t return or recommend it. Guest comfort matters.

The grounds are beautiful, with trees everywhere, turtles, macaws, an aquarium with fish, a very good pool, billiards and foosball, plus shaded parking. The staff service was good, and breakfast was good too, though it arrived 15 minutes late. There were lots of flies in the breakfast area, especially over the cakes. The road outside has deep holes that look like open pools. It’s not the hotel’s responsibility, but getting there is difficult. In room 29, the air conditioner was hard to turn on and off, only went down to 24 degrees, which is reasonable on hot days, and was badly corroded on the outside from the sea air. I recommend the place, with reservations.
