Pousada Kalua Praia

The beach is 200 meters away, and the service was excellent in a family-friendly setting. I fell in love with the park, its native plants, and the flowers. I'd come back next year and stay longer.

Everything was as expected, and the air conditioning worked well, as did the TV. Breakfast was good, and the beach is quite close. It's all very simple, which suited the price we paid and the features shown in the description and photos. My main issue was the tiny bathroom window, which meant the bathroom smell lingered in the room. Opening the bedroom window wasn't very comfortable either, since mosquitoes came in quickly.

I wouldn't give it even one star. The pictures make the place look nice, but our actual experience was awful. We booked through Booking and arrived to find a damp place, and the room wasn't even the one we'd rented. They wanted to put us in a much smaller room, with no air conditioning despite what the listing promised, lots of damp, and no comfort. There was no air conditioning anywhere. The bar looked like a pile of dirt. We had traveled 2,000 km with children and had to leave to find somewhere else. It was a wasted day and I felt like crying. Booking wanted to move us to a different apartment that wasn't what we expected either. Make sure you can cancel without fees, since you never think something like this will happen. I just hope a terrible bill doesn't show up on the card.

The parking is on the street, which could be a downside for some. Most of the inn's team were polite, and we did have a good stay in the end, but I wouldn't recommend the place or return. The biggest problem was the service from the owner, Beto, who seemed out of it all the time, making things uncomfortable and irritating. The location is great, close to Ferrugem's little center and the beach. We stayed in room 16, apparently the inn's best room. It was comfortable, though not as clean as it should have been. There was some termite dust on the floor and cobwebs around, while the bathroom was clean. The sheet looked dirty and set off my dust mite allergy when I lay down. They had no extra sheets when we asked, and there wasn't a face towel either.
