Hotel Sol Centro

Really good.

Really good.

The reception team were a 10, but there's plenty that needs improving. My room had a bad mattress and awful pillows, and the caipirinha I ordered came only half full. Booking showed breakfast included, but they refused to provide it and didn't even offer a discount, which was absurd. The guest rooms are next to the motel rooms, so there were people smoking and I could hear people having sex beside my room. The surrounding streets are dirty, with lots of homeless people.

It's a hotel and motel where you pay by the hour and choose how long to stay. Some rooms smell terribly of cigarettes, while others are well kept. The old air conditioners are noisy, so if loud sounds bother you, keep that in mind. Service is great, and staff are always ready to sort out any problems. There's parking, but no elevator, so you have to take the stairs, which may be an issue if you have trouble getting around. Breakfast is disappointing: they bring you a tray of whatever they've chosen, without even a piece of fruit. A real plus is that it's close enough to walk to avenue 44, and you can leave the car right out front.
