I had no trouble with my first reservation, but the next two times I arrived, the man at reception said there was nothing booked under my name, even though I had confirmed. I ended up having to go to another hotel. On the third occasion, I called the day after booking to check, and he rather rudely told me there were no rooms left. The reception service is awful, and the guy is pretty rude. I don't recommend this place and won't set foot there again.

The location is very good, and check-in at reception was quick. But the pillows were much too high and uncomfortable for sleeping. I mentioned it to reception, and they said it was a recurring complaint, but nothing was done. The air conditioning in room 110 didn't cool well, and breakfast was very basic.

Hotel Barrocos is in a great spot right at the entrance to town, but the owners don't seem to make much of that strategic location or turn it into an advantage for a service that wants to grow. Some businesses keep up with the times by adapting to what people want, especially with technology and the guest experience, but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case here. The rooms are plain, the bedding is uncomfortable, and there's no option for a comforter. The TVs aren't smart, so you're stuck with the same old broadcast channels. The electric showers have a weak flow and don't make a routine hotel shower feel enjoyable. Breakfast was mediocre, with very little variety. It was a lukewarm, nearly unpleasant stay.

Breakfast was really good, and the rooms were clean. The hotel is easy to get to, the front desk staff were quick and attentive, and the place is quiet with a vintage look.
