Pousada Toca da Anita Maresias

The girls were nice, but there was a lot that fell short. The inn is quite far from the beach, so we had to drive, and the streets were under repair. The nearby beach is more suited to surfing, and I regretted not choosing somewhere right on the beach or at least closer. We barely got to enjoy the trip. Inside, the door wouldn’t lock from the inside, which felt unsafe since anyone could open it and enter our room. I thought there would be a whirlpool, but there wasn’t. There was no breakfast and nowhere to cook, just a mini-fridge. The air conditioning was fine, but the toilet flush was weak, the room was very small, and the TV didn’t get cable, so I’m not sure what it was for. The photos show a garage beside the property, but that lot is gone and there’s now another house there. Cars are parked beside the pool, and in the morning we were asked to move ours so someone else could get out.

The place looks nice and has a quiet atmosphere, but several services were disappointing. There’s no breakfast, and the room freezer barely fits two bottles. We had to pay extra for towels, sheets, using the kitchen, and using the barbecue. The toilet flush was so weak that we asked for a bucket to keep in the room. There was also a camera disguised as a light bulb by the pool, and nobody had told us about it. I don’t recommend it.

The inn is simple but has the essentials: air conditioning, a mini-fridge, beds, and a TV in the room. Everything was clean and organized. It’s a little way from the beach, but the price is good compared with other places around there, so it felt worth it. The women who work there were so careful and attentive, from the booking discussions right through checkout. We loved our stay in Maresias and definitely plan to return. The road in is easy enough for low cars, and the price is very fair. We had a great experience in Maresias. It’s calm, clean, organized, and feels family-friendly. The two women at reception were extremely polite and always ready to help. The rooms were clean, there’s covered parking, a pool table, and a barbecue area. And the pool is wonderful!
