Hotel Micheline

We were happy staying here and hope to come back next year with family. The service, from taking our car to the garage to lending us the two bicycles for a ride around town, was lovely. The little courtesies and attention to detail helped make up for the construction noise and vibration behind the hotel. There’s a big empty lot back there, and work may go on for years, with jackhammering on weekdays from 8am until around 5pm or 6pm. We noticed it from our room at the back, but it wasn't an issue on weekends. Breakfast is such a spread that there’s barely room for lunch later: yogurt, juices, cakes, fruit salad, lots of fruit including kiwi, mango, papaya, pineapple, strawberries and blackberries, quiches, eggs made however you like, and good coffee. They also serve afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes, and tea bags and a coffee machine are available all the time. The hotel room was pleasant enough, though the bathroom is small and the bed was average. The heated toilet seat made my missus happy, but the mattress could be better. This boutique hotel also runs a needlepoint business, with its shop at street level just behind the guest facilities. It's in a privileged part of this touristy town, which has every kind of merchandise you can imagine, a bit like an alpine ski resort town. Around Christmas, the place is packed.
