Pousada Casa da Colina

The room was really tiny, and that wasn’t just because my one-year-and-seven-month-old son was with us. We forgot to include him in the booking, but the room itself was still very small. The hotel also needs renovation, and you can hear everyone walking in the hallway, which is really bothersome at night. The location is very good, but that’s where the positives end for me. Breakfast was my biggest disappointment. Basic food can still be good, but there was very little choice and not enough seats for everyone. On our first morning we waited about 15 minutes for food to be replenished, but it never was. I don’t recommend it, and we won’t return.

I stayed at Pousada da Colina in Gramado over New Year’s, and unfortunately the experience was very difficult. I understood when booking that we could stay through 02/01, but I was mistaken and only found out when the manager, Rafael, came up to me in an agitated manner, saying he needed the room. My children and I felt extremely embarrassed. We tried to arrange one more night, but the price quoted was exorbitant, so we decided to return to Porto Alegre. I was very upset, especially as I’d been a customer of the inn for years and didn’t expect this kind of treatment. There were also several problems with the accommodation: the shower was faulty, the shower enclosure wouldn’t close, the windows wouldn’t open, and there were no wardrobes or clothes hangers. Breakfast was also disappointing and very basic for what I expected. I raised all these issues with the owner, but got no response or attempt to resolve them, just an “ok” and “have a good trip.” That only added to my dissatisfaction with how they handled things. P.S. There’s no need for a rebuttal, the other guests’ reviews speak for themselves!

The welcome was polite and attentive, and breakfast was really good. It’s a simple place, but very cozy.

We stayed with my family for one night over New Year’s, from 31 to 01/01/26. The location was very good, and we walked everywhere. I have respiratory problems and had an allergy flare-up, unfortunately, because of a smell in the room. I don’t know if Gramado’s humidity was the reason. The bathroom was clean and everything worked normally. Breakfast was simple and as expected for the standard. The staff were friendly when we asked to leave our bags at reception after checkout.
