Pousada Janela da Cor

This is a good pousada if you want quiet and a relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of independence. It's a short walk from the busy parts of town, which is handy when you want to join the action but also have somewhere calm to come back to. If you're staying in Jeri longer than a weekend, you'll probably want both. It's not a luxury hotel where you're waited on, and it's not a place in the middle of the nightlife where you can watch the crowds and hear the vendors. The rooms are simple, cute, and spacious, with practical bathrooms and a nice balcony with a hammock. Breakfast is healthy, as shown in the photos, and the wifi was perfect. The pousada sits between Jeri's central beach and Malhada, near the must-see walk to Pedra Forata. Daniela is warm and kind, happy to share tips and information about Jeri and this part of Brazil, while respecting your privacy. Jeri feels very different from the rest of Brazil. Walking its little lanes or along the beach at night gave me a reassuring sense of safety. The tourist police are around but discreet, and residents and their workers also keep an eye on the area so no one spoils this little gem. I don't know if I'll make it back to Jericoacoara, though I hope I do, like the other travelers who've come this far. It's a lovely place and worth staying as long as you can.
