We were very comfortable here as a large family, and the insects didn’t bother us too much. There were some in the rooms, though, which makes sense since the inn sits beside a small, lovely forest. Mosquito screens on the windows might help. The rooms are simple and have air conditioning. The receptionist was very friendly and attentive, and as Uruguayans we could communicate easily because he speaks Spanish.
We especially recommend the hotel for its care and service, as well as its facilities and location. During a difficult moment on our trip, manager Leandro was kind, quick to help, and understanding, and he literally saved our vacation. He handled the problem professionally and courteously. It’s rare to meet a manager so committed to guests’ well-being, and he does the hotel proud. Our stay at Villa Chalés de Gramado was wonderful. Thank you so much, Leandro! Happy 2026! 👏✨
The location is good, and I hope someone who knows how to invest in and care for the place buys it. As it is now, it seems abandoned, the building is very old and poorly maintained, and there’s no breakfast or any kind of security for guests. The listing photos don’t match reality and look like they were taken years ago. I’m attaching some photos I took. On arrival, we found the bathroom window lock broken. The next day, the water heating failed: it started hot, then went cold and wouldn’t heat again. The receptionist changed the kitchen gas cylinder used to heat the water, but it made no difference, and I had a cold shower. In the following days, all kinds of insects appeared. The bed sheets were heavily stained, and lifting them made the bed unpleasant to get into. We politely asked the receptionist and contacted them through other channels for a refund for one night. They said it wasn’t possible, that the owner wouldn’t refund anything. The receptionist also said the owner wouldn’t invest in anything else because they didn’t know whether they would keep the place. I hope people read this before making a reservation. It felt like we’d survived the place. I’d tell anyone to stay as far away as possible. The worst place to stay in Gramado. It’s literally like an attempted murder.
The photos on Booking are very misleading, like they’re from the last century. I asked to cancel and get my last night refunded, but they said they wouldn’t return the money. I don’t know how this place operates or has a license. It’s like Gramado’s CHERNOBYL. Never again. Inside the chalet, things keep cracking, and the minibar makes loud pops. There’s a strange, almost paranormal feeling, like something could explode at any moment. The water doesn’t get hot, the bed is awful and stained, and so are the sheets. The bedroom and bathroom windows won’t close. The outlets are loose, so nothing can be charged. The internet is bad, the TV is slow, and the bathroom light stays on all night even when switched off. Two gas cylinders sit right beside each chalet to heat the water, but it still doesn’t get warm. There were cockroaches, a musty smell, and even a huge spider in the room. If you don’t want a hard time, stay somewhere else. I wouldn’t recommend this place. It feels like an Amazon jungle, a prison, or a crumbling museum. God help me.
