Casa do Val e da Thais

The garden is full of flowers and plants, with birdsong, butterflies, and a cool breeze all around. There’s good music and always a great conversation, too. This place has a kind of magic you have to experience. I’ve been back again and again, and it’s become my favorite place to relax in Espírito Santo. My family, friends, and I have always had the best times here, including two get-togethers with friends, and we’re planning another next year. It feels like home for Val, Thaís, Martonni, Luana, and Luan. Thaís is extremely friendly and wins you over with her good humor. Val and Thaís look after their guests with real warmth. The rooms are clean and have a rustic feel, and the inn has lots of books and encyclopedias about Espírito Santo’s culture, geography, and history. Some rooms look out onto the beautiful nearby lake. The Wi-Fi is good, the electric shower heats well, and the bathroom sinks and flush work well. At night we fell asleep to birds, cicadas, and frogs croaking by the lagoon. Breakfast is made with so much care: little rolls and homemade jams, tasty coffee, fresh juice and fruit, and delicious cakes. Val is also a terrific cook. We had lovely dinners like penne and broths, with wine available to buy at the inn. After a trip to the beach, there’s a refreshing shower in the garden. The inn is close to the center of Meaípe, so it’s easy to go out for dinner or drive to the beaches nearby. Claudinha, a friend of the couple, has kayaks guests can use to explore the lovely lake. I hope this wonderful couple from São Paulo always has plenty of health and love. They truly know how to treat guests well. Best inn in Espírito Santo!

The location works well, between the beaches of Meaípe and Ubu, and there’s a lovely view of the lagoon. The house and rooms are great, and the garden with its trees, flowers, and birds has such a peaceful feel. Val and Thaís are lovely and make you feel at home from arrival to departure. I had a great chat with Sra. Thaís, she has such good energy and a cheerful personality. Breakfast is simple, delicious, and all prepared by them. Their banana and oat cake won me over. We’ll come back as soon as we get the chance.

The three days I spent at Casa do Val e da Thais were among my best stays. The garden and the thoughtful details in the apartments made me want to stay there forever. The hosts have such a positive spirit, and the conversations with the couple were a pleasure. Breakfast always brought a few nice surprises. There was something for regular tourists as well as for people willing to try a banana cake with a special filling. I tried the organic blackberry jam and the jabuticaba jam, made with seasonal fruit.

You can feel the history and culture here, and it really opens your mind. Every little thing has its own story. A walk around the property with Thais lets you notice the charm of each flower and plant, and the couple’s vinyl record collection is amazing. It’s a one-of-a-kind place, welcoming, inspiring, and peaceful.
